AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

It would seem appropriate that we once more state what our aims and objectives are. They were defined at a committee meeting at the Pitt and Air Force Club on 18th December 1988 and are as set out below:

To combine and co-ordinate B24 Liberator groups and squadron associations in Australia in a national organisation in order to be able to co-operate and work together for specific purposes.

  1. To organise and disseminate information and news about reunions and social functions etc. on a national basis.
  2. To further and encourage the writing and production of histories about RAAF Liberator Squadrons.
  3. To locate and obtain a B24 for an Australian national museum.
  4. To continue liaison and contact with the 380th Bombardment Group.

These aims have been maintained and we now have the B24 Liberator Memorial Fund Incorporated restoring a B24 at Werribee. Is it appropriate that we adhere to these aims and objectives or should they be reviewed? The committee would be interested in your comments.

We now have a mailing list of almost 400. Membership has never been confined to those personnel who flew, serviced or maintained B24 Liberators. Anyone who is interested in Liberators can become a member and be on our mailing list.
